Capturing Buffalo: A Photography Challenge for Urban Explorers

Buffalo isn’t just where I live — it’s where I’ve learned to find beauty in every building, streetlight, and sunrise.

Buffalo, New York, has been my home for the last 11 years, so I guess I can call myself a Buffalonian! Now that I have my Buffalo Wild Wings, I can photograph the beauty that the city offers. A good friend of mine, whom I met while attending Buffalo State, recently posted an amazing photo of downtown that really caught my eye. I love how he captured the morning light of Buffalo and the heart of downtown. He gave me almost a challenge to try to capture Buffalo with photography. This is me taking on that challenge.

When I’m out looking for great shots, I pay attention to how buildings cast shadows on the streets, the light in different scenes, and how it highlights specific details of architecture.

If you have a camera or just your phone, I encourage you to take a moment to look around for unique moments that others might not find interesting. Whether it’s a building, a trash can, a car, a tree, or a light pole, take a photo of it.

Here’s my challenge to you: find an amazing spot in your city to take a photograph and share it here on the platform. Be sure to give a shout-out to your city, and I will do my best to provide feedback. Use the hashtag #KenKenRateMyPhoto. I can’t wait to see the beautiful sights in your city, and I hope you enjoy my photos of Buffalo.
